TRIO World Academy (TWA) students volunteer to setup water conservation measures at govt. school

8 April 2015, Bengaluru:
Students of grades 5 to 8 of TRIO World Academy, an international school at Sahakarnagar, Bengaluru, volunteered to implement water conversation measures at the neighbouring Kodigehalli Government School.
To prevent excess tap-water from getting wasted, they developed their own grey waster system at the government school. The students’ solution gathers the excess water after it has been used for washing hands or utensils and sends it through a purification system. The waste can then be used in the toilets or for gardening purposes. About 40-60% of the school’s water was used for these purposes.

A drip irrigation system was also implemented in the students’ school garden

Mr. Naveen KM, Managing Director, TRIO World Academy said that the school gives utmost importance to community service and where better to start than in one’s own neighbourhood. He hoped that the conservation measures can be spread to more schools and systems can be implemented to save water.
