Child Safety
Creating a safe and happy school
At TRIO, we believe that it is a privilege to care for your children and we always take this shared responsibility seriously. A safe and happy school environment promotes healthy emotional growth, development, learning and exploration. It is one of the most important precursors to a child’s academic success. Cultivating a healthy teacher-student bond is at the core of building child safety into our school’s ecosystem. We are aware of the risks that children face under unsafe environments and how detrimental unsafe spaces could be to their physical, and mental health and are taking every step to mitigate those risks.
Background checks
TRIO ensures that all staff and volunteers are subject to extensive reference checks before they are appointed. The presentation of a recent Police Background Verification Check is mandatory. We also ask staff to be vigilant with any adult who is on campus and have a stringent entry protocol for visitors.
Child Safety Policy
The primary purpose of this Safeguarding Policy is to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all students enrolled in our school. We recognize that children are vulnerable and may face various risks, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other forms of harm. As an educational institution, we have a moral and legal obligation to create a secure and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive without fear or danger. This policy outlines the measures and procedures we will implement to prevent, identify, and respond to any incidents or concerns related to child protection and safety. Furthermore, this policy aims to raise awareness among all stakeholders, including staff members, parents, and students, about the importance of child protection and the roles they play in upholding it. We believe that a collaborative effort involving the school community, relevant authorities, and child protection organizations is crucial in addressing this critical issue effectively. By establishing clear guidelines, reporting mechanisms, and training programs, we strive to empower our staff, equip our students with knowledge, and foster a culture of vigilance and zero tolerance towards any form of child abuse or exploitation within our institution. The Child Protection Committee (CPC) is a dedicated team responsible for overseeing and implementing the school’s child protection policies and procedures.
