Dr. D Srinivasan
Dr. D Srinivasan is an esteemed scholar, academician, public servant and social reformer, whom we are proud to have on Trio’s board of advisors. He will be instrumental in shaping our policies and programmes as the institution grows. As a prolific educator, Dr. Srinivasan brings a wealth of experience to the Trio leadership. He is a widely travelled individual, and brings a unique global perspective, steeped in Indian socio-cultural values, which is integral to fulfilling the vision of an international school.
Dr. Srinivasan is a gold medallist from Mysore University, in B.Sc. (Hons) Physics as well as M.Sc. (Hons) Physics. He holds several degrees including an MA in Public Administration and Sociology, (Delhi University), MBA (Delhi University), PhD in Sociology Delhi University through IIT Delhi and PhD in Sociology, JNU, Delhi. He began his career as a physics lecturer in CMC Vellore, Tamil Nadu. He was the 4th rank holder of the IAS 1955 Batch.
He served in several positions including Assistant/Deputy Commissioner Delhi, Assam, Meghalaya, Joint Secretary & additional Secretary (Govt. of India) Ministry of Defence and Water Resources. Secretary (Govt. of India), Ministry of Defence/Defence Production. Chairman / Member of Selection Panel for UPSC and other Specialised Services (2005-07).
He was called upon by the Govt. of India to setup the North East Hill University (NEHU) Shillong, and Sikkim Central University and served as founder Vice Chancellor. He serves as the Advisor to Govt. of Uttar Pradesh and consultant to Govt. of Karnataka. He is a Volunteer for UNESCO on Youth Exchange as Mentor/Facilitator. He actively campaigns for the issues related to human rights, child rights, human trafficking, gender equality and fishermen’s problems.
