The ESL curriculum at Trio is global in content and technology driven. iPads and technology aid learning opportunities for our ESL students, making content more accessible, project based, and language learning more achievable.
This programme offers the students a learning environment that is supportive and inclusive. Every day is a step forward, as we see that the students are able to gradually and confidently express themselves in a new language.
Our ESL programme caters to students not yet prepared for mainstream language-intensive courses. We provide a comfortable yet challenging environment to practice skills.
Classes are equalised for appropriate pacing. Small class sizes allow our dedicated ESL team to focus on vital skills, ensuring students acquire language for day-to-day communication.
Available to all students requiring additional support. Students are assessed and placed accordingly.
Grades 6-8: Six 40-minute periods per week. Teachers focus on reading, writing, listening, speaking, role plays, and discussions to help students achieve proficiency.
The Secondary School is an enthusiastic and energetic environment. We offer a diversity of choices aimed at fulfilling the school’s mission of providing a well-rounded education.
We emphasize academic rigour and a pastoral system that encourages students to do their best, meet challenges, and develop independence.
This course is for students who require support with language development and is ideal for those who are proficient in one language but need to develop their English proficiency.
Learners will engage with a variety of stimuli to build reading and writing skills. They will learn to select relevant details, understand implied meanings, and practice writing for different audiences. Additionally, listening skills are developed through talks and conversations to ensure accuracy and clarity in response.
The course leads effectively into IB English B (Standard & Higher Level) or IB English A (Standard Level). It is designed to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, serving as an excellent foundation for the Senior Studies programme where students follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
