TRIO World Academy (TWA) joins global initiative; collaborates with Bangalore Japanese Supplementary School(JSS) for Japanese students of the city

The school offers its facilities to Japanese teachers and students on weekends as part of this programme.

October 2022, Bengaluru:

Bengaluru based international school TRIO World Academy (TWA) began a collaboration with Japanese Supplementary School (JSS), an international initiative by the Government of Japan.

JSS or Hoshū jugyō kō is an initiative of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). MEXT prescribes the course materials for these schools. The course materials are consistent with the curricula taught in Japan.

JSS at TRIO is giving Japanese students living in Bengaluru the opportunity to study and bond with each other. JSS conducts its classes every Saturday of the week at Sahakarnagar for students from Grades 1 to 9.

As the number of Japanese nationals living outside of Japan is gradually increasing, JSS helps Japanese students and their families around the world stay in touch with and nurture their connection to Japanese culture and identity. The initiative that is fully supported by the Government of Japan, helps students stay in sync with their peers back in their country of Japan.

The classes are conducted by trained JSS instructors. Classes and programmes are taught in the Japanese language. Special events are also part of the programmes at the school that will help students stay in touch with their culture.
